We have communion on the first Sunday of every month, and am on the look out for good communion songs. I know there are a few good hymns...but what songs do you use to lead people into communion?

The ones we have used here are: Once Again
Jesus, Thank You
Come Share the Lord

Also would love to do a service in which the whole Sunday service is focused on Communion. Anyone ever do that? If so, curious what the order of service was and how it was done.

I love Getty's music. We just used Speak, O Lord this past Sunday in worship. His music works very well when having a congregation that is made up of many older people. I read the lyrics and I'm trying to find a place to get the sheet music for the song. I heard a clip of the song - just the chorus. There must be a full recording of it somewhere, but I haven't located one on Rhapsody.
I heard a clip of the chorus and it sounds amazing!!! I did buy the sheet music off of kingsway last night. The link to Getty's explaination of the song is a must listen!
Hi Dave,
I have a song called "No Holding Back" that has a lot of the imagery of the meaning behind the cup of wine especially in the wedding ceremony.... It could be used for communion ....

BUT it has never been used YET
One great, but little known song, is "Bread of Life" by David Glenn. You can find the audio and the sheet music here:

Also, more widely known is "Communion" by Third Day
I have a communion song called "We Remember".
You can download the free mp3s, chord chart and lead sheet here:
John, that i a very nice song. From hearing it, I think it would work really well as a song done by the praise team while offing a time for the congregation to reflect on the meaning of communion, or in a large church setting a song played while the elements are distributed. I will be teaching our praise team this one.
Hey Dave, thanks for the encouragement. We haven't used this one in our church yet, so I would appreciate any feedback you have as to how well it did or didn't work in your church, after you try it. The arrangement can be changed to feature a piano or mellow lead guitar instead of flute. I hope to do a better recording of the song one of these days.

"Once again"
" Wonderful cross"
"Above All"
"thank you for the Blood"
"Worthy is the Lamb"
Good songs guys!

One I love to use at our church during communion is called "Lord Have Mercy."

Here it is on You Tube performed by Michael W. Smith:

"You Are My King (Amazing Love), also works well for us....

There's a different sounding arrangement of "Lord, Have Mercy" by Eoghan Heaslip that is great for a guitar lead version.
