May 24:
Blessed Be Your Name (Redman, G)
You Never Let Go (Redman, G)
Mighty to Save (Hillsong, G)
Wonderful Cross/Beautiful One medley (Tomlin/Tim Hughes, C)
I'm really excited about this set! Usually we rock it with hyper fast tunes and big songs ... this week, we are without a drummer and electric guitar player. Haven't had that situation for a couple years, so it'll be different for us.
But I love the songs, so encouraging - in practice on Thursday, I felt my faith lifted as we lifted up the Lord's name with these songs.
May His name be proclaimed and glorified!
Blessed Be The Name - Redman
He's Alive - Bryan Thomas
Sublime Gracia (Amazing Grace)
Your Name - Baloche
Christ The Lord Is Risen Today
I Give You My Heart - Hillsongs
5/31
Be Unto Your Name
Made Me Glad - Hillsongs
Your Name - Baloche
Love Like No Other - Thomas
Con Que Pagaremos?
In Christ Alone
Our congregation is bilingual so we always do at least two songs in both English and Spanish and are shooting for three. Sometimes we do one just in Spanish. I start with a couple of high energy songs, then for the confession and prayer time get more slow and reflective. The offertory varies from upbeat to reflective as does the sermon lead in. The sermon lead out is always high energy. We use at least one hymn every week, though I usually modernize the arrangements. But I really believe in including the hymns and the rich tradition they represent is important.

Today marked the first official “Sunday” of the summer season here in the Golden Isles. All of the schools are out and everyone is taking off to the beach and pools. In spite of this, we had a good crowd in both our 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM services today.
We continued on the final week of our 2-week “Celebrate Life” series where we are honoring God, our volunteers, ministries, and sharing testimonies of what God has done through the ministry of SSCC over the last year. Our music reflected this “celebration” theme, as you will see:
Walk In: “Celebration” (Kool and the Gang)
Opener: “Again I Say Rejoice” (Israel Houghton)
*we had trumpet and sax again on these songs and it was awesome having live horns!
Worship Set:
Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone (led by Shannon Lewis)
Hosanna (Hillsong) - led by Callie Fendig, returning college student
Sermon:
David’s sermon had multiple live and video testimonies woven throughout showcasing various ministries and celebrations of what God has done at SSCC in the last year.
Closer: “I Will Never Be” (Hillsong)
This song is an older Hillsong ballad that has become somewhat of a “theme” song for our church as “Never be the same again” is a tagline on our logo and marketing materials. It’s also our heartfelt desire - that people would be impacted by Christ and “never be the same again”.
This recap is part of Week 45 of the "Sunday Setlists" blog carnival. Post your setlist, and then share your link and view links of hundreds of other setlists and worship recaps!
