What are some of the most wonderful, marvelous, beautiful, delightful and/or life-changing things that have happened to you in connection with worship times (either formal or informal, corporate or just you-and-God)?

A lot of the discussions I'm in, we get going on a difficult subject, maybe one with no real definite answer.  For this discussion, I'd like to abandon melancholy and stay on the bright side (it's testimony time, folks!).  We're thinking narrative, stories here, or even just flashes of insight, with no subtle digs (I am the chief of sinners here!), just the good stuff.

Promise Keepers gathering in Washington DC, 1997.

I would guess there were probably at least 1.5 million men present for this event, packed shoulder-to-shoulder from the Capitol Building all the way down the Capitol Mall, beyond the Washington Monument, and spilling over into the side streets.

At some point during the proceedings the worship band (I have absolutely no recollection who they were) led us all in singing the hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy", which was probably the only song that pretty much everyone knew.

To hear this sound rising from the earth of 1.5 million or so men singing "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty...God in three Persons, blessed Trinity" was an experience I will never forget and will not expect to see repeated in my lifetime this side of heaven...

I'm bald, but my hair is still standing up.  What an experience that must have been!

I agree, that sounds absolutely out of this world.  Holy Holy Holy is an amazing worship song and means alot to me.

Just before I was converted I remember hearing live music from the Toronto Blessing and they sang that hymn. At the end of the hymn there was loads of clapping and cheers and I remember one of the guys who was leading the worship band saying 'For You Lord'.  At that time I'd never heard of anyone cheering and clapping for the Lord and didn't know what to make of it.  However, it touched my heart and stuck with me.  I still use Holy, Holy, Holy to this day and it still sends shivers down my spine.

ps forgot to add that I wasn't playing the guitar or singing back then and the thought of worship leading had never crossed my mind
