I am not the Worship Leader, but have led before in her absence. The first time, my knees were shaking so bad, I thought for sure the congregation would start laughing. I got through it, no one even noticed. At least no one said anything.

The first time I lead worship at my new church, I broke a string after the second song. What a bummer! I changed the string in like 47 seconds flat. I ended up having to sand the bridge with extra fine paper just a tiny bit to smooth the area where the string sits. Since then all has been good.

As far as changing strings is concerned for me i always waited until i broke one before i'd change them, however after i started leading worship that was all to often so i would wind up changing just the string i broke and wound up with alot of packs of strings that were miss matched. In general strings start to lose their sound after a month os so (actually get pluged up with dirt & oil from your hands) so i change them all once they start sounding dull!

Acoustic I play Taylor's 410 & 415... Love them. I will only play Taylor Guitars, I am working on purchasing the new Taylor T5 which has an electric body feel but acoustic sound. Played one 2 days ago, I loved it...

I would always break my "G" string right at the bridge until I took some extra fine sand paper and gave the bridge a few light passes where the string sits. No more breakage now for quite some time.

It has been my experience that string breakage occurs mostly from wear at the bridge or the nut. Check to see that there are no "burrs" at these points. I used to break the "G" string all the time. after checking these problem areas, I had no more problem. (Oh, and breakage DOES have something to do with your "touch."
