Last Day!

Posted on October 6, 2008 at 1:17am 2 Comments

I had my last day at my church today- Worship went really well - I'm going to miss the team, but I am ready to move on.

I'm excited to see what God has planned for me next. I'm not sure where we'll be going, it's between two churches - My kids like one, I like the other, hubby is noncommittal, he'll go to either.

It will be weird not praying over worship sets, practicing, looking at new songs. I guess I'll just enoy the freedom for a while. I'm not sure I want to continue… Continue I took a month off! *grins*

But God spoke to me during that time...a LOT.

I am leaving my current church in two weeks - it's a decision that didn't come lightly to me, one I agonized over, and God left me PLENTY of messages that I chose to ignore...Now that I made the decision, I feel great...I won't have to be a WL anymore, I can just go to a church, worship God, and find my niche...

Lately though, I've really felt drawn to the teens and their worship. Are they being taught the biblical foundations?… Continue

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

before you were born I set you apart;

I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

"Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."

But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

Then the LORD reached out his…

Why all this negativity?

I was thinking today about how this world is so ready to pounce on the negative. It seems like the more sensational the news is, the more we as a society eat it up. The good news is rarely mentioned. Just give us blood, guts, gore, lust, murder, and mayhem.

The same thing happens in our minds. Make a short list of all the bad events you remember happening, things that irritated you, angered you, or hurt you, or saddened you. Now make a list of all the events that brought you joy,… Continue

Are you listening? not God...YOU :)

I still have my obsession with clouds. I've grown to look forward to looking up in the sky each morning, to see what God has left me. It also gives me some "quiet" time with God. When was the last time you had some "quiet" time?

Oh, I know most of us "put time aside" to read the bible, or do our devotional...but how about putting away the bible and the devotional, and just sitting there in peace and quiet, and just...listening?

For me, there is always noise...TV, music,… Continue

Hi Chris, I see you've been busy on WTR, I'm suprised I never saw you on. I did see you made a comment on someone's page about crabs in Maryland. Well I'm in south Louisiana and I challenge you to a crab boil off. It's me against you. By the way, I use Louisian Crab Boil seasoning.

Hey... Holland Davis here. I'd like to tell you about It's a website that is song focused...

The original premise was to make a site where worship leaders could listen to a song, download a chord chart and teach it in their church. I had a song - I Will Stand - jump 500 points on CCLI just through this site alone.

We've since expanded it to featured CD's, Artists, Songs...

We've also added the ability to sell mp3's, rhythm charts, orchestrations, backing trax, whatever you can think of...

You can upload any video or audio format and it will play it...

We've also made it user friendly for non-musical folks by adding a playlist feature where you can make a playlist of your favorite songs and play it like a radio station. You can also email the playlist to other people. I use it for my worship team to send out the setlist and charts for songs.

Future items are a pay per view feature for educational videos, a more expanded social networking feature, blogging, etc. Right now it's really song focused.

If you write and record worship songs... I'd love it if you would upload your songs to the site.

I'd love your thoughts on the site as well...

Brother Chris, I would me nore then excited to come and play bass for you. I lead worship from my six string but I love the bass. I have a beautiful one also. It's a Rickenbacker 4001 black glo, although it's a rock and roll guitar, I us it for everything. I even played it on a jazz song that I recorded. You can here it on my site here at WTR. Take a listen and you can see it's a great bass

WHat are you guys paying bythe way, for gas? I just paid $4.32 for the cheapest unleaded version, today on my way to get groceries.

Can ya blame your parents for moving back??? We are a rare bread of people , Us Eastern people. Please pray for brother he has had his 2ed heart attch and now a strock. He's 39, 40 next month. Hes it. Both or our parents are with the Lord. And I'm stuck in Utah untill at least the spring. And for me I'm working in a very large retail store and there are so many double standers that it's not funny. One of which I have to deal with in my department. It's getting stressful. I need a new job that pays what I make now with sundays that are free for worship. I don't have much other training other then retail. And need to get out of it soon.

Yes Utah is very very different. I know of Nephi we use to live in Orem close to Salt Lake. Now is southern Utah. People have not been to kind to use here. Husband tells people that we are not a member of the"club" . Have met some good people, so LDS mostly not. They are very modest here and there for a shock to go to Vegas where they are not. Our daughter and son in love are back in Tn with our first grandson, and all of our family. We have been North East alot . Lived in Ct for about 18 months with the navy. It's just a beautful there as it is back home. the Whole eastern seaboard is to me breath taking. Here it reminds me of " dry bones" Ya know what I mean. I pray for the people here and think that everyone needs to live here for at least 1 year to really have to depend on God. I am very thankful for God sending us here because had we not we wouldn't have Lexx or Loghan and our two new children (the daughter in love and son in love.) We have wonderful grandkids and although they aren't blood they are still ours.
