Home Church:
Central Baptist Church of Fountain City
Musical Gift(s):
Vocals, Guitar, Arranging, Song Writing
About Me:
I am passionate about leading worship and about developing creative and unique ways to help people experience a radical and life-changing encounter with God. It is my belief that music helps connect people with God in a real and intimate way and that genuine worship should bring a smile to God’s face and lead to a change in the heart of the worshipper. As N.T Wright has said, "Worship must lead to misson."
Favorite Music:
Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, Elevation Worship, Gateway Worship, Christy Nockels, Charlie Hall, New Life Worship, Casting Crowns
Favorite Bible Verses / Passages:
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. II Timothy 1:7 NIV

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Cor. 12:9

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. (Isaiah 6:1-4)

I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. Phil. 4:13

Love, Forgiveness and Judgment

The message in our Catalyst service at Central Baptist this past Sunday was about "Love, Forgiveness and Judgment". I must confess that I struggle terribly with this topic, not so much as it applies to our unseen foreign enemies, but in how it impacts our daily interactions and relationships.

The idea of loving and forgiving our enemies and of not being judgmental is really tough. Jesus says in Luke 6:27-28 ,“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good…

Do Numbers Matter?

I have been reading a book by Rick McKinley called "This Beautiful Mess". Rick is the pastor of Imago Dei Church in Portland.

He talks about how in one of the early days of the Imago Dei church plant that the church was meeting in a Baptist church that they rented on Sunday nights. On this particular Sunday night, Portland was playing LA for the NBA Championship. The church that normally averaged 30 in attendance slid all the way…

The Barber Shop

At the Barber Shop I go to, we talk about guitars a lot. One of the Barber’s, Clay, was telling me that a bunch of guys get together at the Barber Shop on Monday nights to pick guitar. He invited me to come. I travel a lot and couldn’t make a Monday night for a couple of months. One Monday, my son, Matthew, and I decided to go to the Barber Shop and play. I warned Matthew before we went that probably all they would play would be bluegrass and old gospel which neither of us cares for, but we… Continue

Hey David, your profile just caught me eye, I am a Knoxville boy too and grew up in Fountain City. I have been to Central Baptist as a visitot on many occassions when I was younger. I live and work in a camping ministry in PA now but get home to Knoxville any chance I get. I have been enjoying your tunes. Good stuff.
