I have been frustrated with our worship leader in many areas because he doesn't have any musical training whatsoever. He plays guitar and has a good voice, but he cannot change keys or read any…Continue

Wondering about any new Christmas music that you have discovered. Last year we did "Manger Throne" written by Julie Miller, but performed by Third Day. We did it in the key of A. Also, I just heard, "We Have A Saviour," by Hillsong. I have already downloaded the music on Song Select and it works well in the key of G. Both excellent songs. Have a wonderful Christmas praising our Lord during this season. :)

Should the worship music keys be chosen for the congregation or for the main singer in the band? This has been a controversial subject in our worship group. The main singer has a very high voice and chooses keys that are high. Because of this I believe that the majority of the congregation cannot sing along with us unless they sing harmony. I think the main question here is, "Are we performing or assisting others to worship with us?"

Hi Marsha,
Lovely to hear from you. Yep, God is full of surprises : ) It's great you have been asked to help with the sound etc. and kinda exciting too, doing something that you weren't expecting to do. It's great experience for you both and who knows where it will lead.
Prayer group is going well, thank you. It's like going back to basics in some ways but I found myself really excited about it last night. It's helping me to have some quality time with the Lord, as life has been way too busy for me over the past few months - not good.
Wishing you all the very best with your new venture:)

Hi Marsha,
Glad you are spending time with Jesus, you know, sometimes we so need this precious time, just to be with Him. I think it is healthy to take time out from worship and just 'be'.
Hey, what a talented lady you are, wow, all those instruments! I'ts good to be involved with other music too, I am, - you can learn such alot doing other music as well as worship music, and it's such a joy. As for jamming, well, you can't beat it. I love to 'jam' : )
I do hope you are well, and it's so lovely of you to get in touch. Again, sorry for not replying sooner. I get so many junk e-mails these days, it's wasn't until I was having a clean up, that I saw your comment.
Speak soon. God Bless. Lorraine
Hi Marsha, sorry, I have just this minute see, your comment. I was sifting through my emails and noticed it.
Wow, one of my all time favourite worship songs is Amazing Love, I adore the words and 10.000 reasons, which I have done very recently.
Everything is ok, thank you for asking, it's just that I don't do worship at my home church, never have done, and all is very quiet in general. I have however, been asked to provide worship at a new prayer group. I feel very drawn to do it.
Hope all is well with you and that worship is going well.
Hope to hear from you.
God Bless. Lorraine
Hi Marsha, thanks for your comment. Sorry for taking so long to reply, I've not been on my computer much lately.
I always think worship music in the USA is much more up to date than the UK. I have to admit I am a bit out of touch with the new up-and-coming worship music in the UK as I'm kinda in a quiet place at the moment and not going to alot of worship events.
Yes, it's true, lots of churches in the UK are closing down. I guess it's because congregations are dwindling in some churches and some of our churches are hundreds of years old and are very expensive to maintain - huge buildings with very high ceilings which cost the earth to heat.
Bye for now. Keep in touch. God Bless

I want to believe that God our heavenly Father who we ought direct our worship to, hasn't changed in the past 2000 years. Our pure worship has to directed to Him as the angels who were created long before us still do till now. Our worship has to God-centered and people-centered. This will help us shift our worship and praise from performances to a pure worship ministry as is requested in John 5:22-24 if we know what we worship. Observe the passion and feel secular artistes put into their love or rock songs and you will see that we are missing the mark.
Hi Marsha,
Thank you for friend add. I feel a bit out of touch with the site and haven't been on for a while, but please feel free to get in touch if you would like to chat.
Happy New Year. God Bless. Lorraine
