- Well, it's honestly taken me every moment of my nearly 40 years to be comfortable in my own skin. I finally know how to love and accept myself for beating to my own drum, and doing my own thing without worrying much about man's judging thumb, loving this new intimate love from my Heavenly Daddy that I hadn't experienced before... really... until about the last year. Worship is my life. I yearn to just soak at my Heavenly Daddy's feet. It's the passion that burns fiery in my veins and it's what brings me back from the times when I want to just hide away. I want more of Jesus. I won't be satisfied until I pursue Him with everything I have.
If you want to know what I do for a vocation, well, it's a mixed bag of many hats under one covering. My husband and I have been business owners/self employed for 15 years. We do Lotus Notes/Domino dev, admin, and instruction, web dev and hosting, branding design, desktop publishing, coverart for CD's/DVD's/gear/apparel/promotionals, band/music websites, and also stage banners/backdrops, etc. He's a certified IBM Lotus Notes instructor and admin, web developer and all around tech guru, while I'm creative director, and I do all the graphic design, GUI, and other front end web development. I like to say he makes it work, and I make it pretty. We also own and run a professional recording/engineering studio. He's our lead sound engineer and sound instructor. On recording projects, I'm also creative producer and/or co-producer. The studio is, in part, an extension of our call to missions (we were mission leaders for many years), particularly worship in missions. Our heart is to train those who are being wooed to the nations as worshipers, teaching them how to fish, in the studio, with recording the worship the Lord has given them. We're on the tail end of building out the studio to a larger and more encompassing space. We were delayed about 3 years ago after we had to turn our focus on our prematurely born 2nd child.
I've been on worship teams for the past 15 years, and then many other music endeavors before that. I'm currently one of the worship leaders at CTFR, with my main focus being a soaking worship leader. I am wrecked to minister and intercede through worship to women who are going through fires, to champion for babies and children surviving Shaken Baby Syndrome and other abuses, and to write worship from the heartsong of babies who are praying and desperately and softly pleading for their Mommies to not abort them. We homeschool our 2 kids (12 & 3). We enjoy fixing up our historic home and traveling, especially to Turkey, and there are many other places I long to see. My heart feels called to the desert, and I'm waiting to see how God is going to reveal that someday. I love to paint, and I'm so blessed to be able to also lead the painting ministry at church, while bringing encouragement to artists who have a burning passion to live and have an outflow of the Holy Spirit. I also paint during the worship at both my church on a rotation with a handful of lovely artists, as well as also painting during worship at other venues. To soothe my soul, I love to create free-formed stained glass mosaics, with most being permanent applications upon walls, fireplaces, back splashes, etc. Most of my paintings are birthed from the songs I write, so they go hand-in-hand, often juxtaposed with scripture.
But the important thing is that I'm in falling-over-my-feet love with Jesus, and just worshiping the King of Kings in whatever I do.
