Retire That Song?

Posted on January 21, 2009 at 1:17am 4 Comments

Psalm 147:1 “Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him!”

My heart becomes softer, fuller and better prepared to receive God's Word after a time of authentic, transcendent worship through song. I know I'm 'preaching to the choir' here but I believe that this is a great argument for not sending a song into retirement too quickly. There’s no question that this is especially difficult for us restless, creative, worship leader types… Continue

Hi Patrick... just stopping by and haven't forgotten you! I'll be up your way sometime soon to see my folks, but - I'm super pregnant at the moment and playing guitar with the belly is such a funny thing. I've decided to take a break for a bit... last time I led worship I almost laughed aloud onstage, belly in the way and baby jumping around... it was so funny. It was mothers day though so was appropriate. Anyway, I really do appreciate the invite and keeping your info tucked away... maybe in the future we can connect and work something out. Just wanted to let you know I didn't forget :) Many blessings to you today!!! Di

Patrick, yeah, I know, it took me a long time to respond to your friend request. I listened to one of your songs so far "Crown of Thorns." I love the guitar, your voice is great, the lyrics are great, the verse has a nice feel to it....the one thing I was looking for was the chorus to go up higher, some place different than the verse. That's just me, but I'll listen to more of your music when I get a chance. Are you a member of Song Discovery as well?

Hi Patrick - Thanks for inviting me to your church, I'd love to come next time I'm up to Camarillo to see mom and dad. We're due for a trip soon. It'll be a couple months yet but I'll let you know. Looked at your website, sounds like a vibrant fellowship, I'm excited to meet you guys. How is the ministry going up there? Oxnard is an interesting place. Anyway, bless you and I'll talk to you soon. Di Luna
