Drumming, singing, creating soundscapes, percussion, harp, synths, flutes, harmonica, wave drum, kaossilator, mixing and production
My life as a musician and worship leader began several years after I turned my life over to God and left a life of rebellion as a teenager to follow Jesus. My sister played bass in the church worship group and her husband played lead electric guitar. As there were a number of quite capable drummers in the church, I turned to hand drums (djembe, doumbek, dharbuka, congas, tablas, bongos, bodhran and cajon) and percussion.
Since 1997 I have been traveling the world (living at times in the USA, South Africa and Australia) as an itinerant minister - teaching, leading (mostly prophetic) worship and ministering in healing and evangelistic conferences.
I am currently based in Chester in the UK where I am part of the worship team at Vineyard 53 and also at Night Church. I work for a local power company and have a small music studio in my apartment, overlooking the River Dee.
The majority of my music is prophetic (inspired in creative "free flow" sessions), but I also enjoy creating instrumental music from samples and my own instrumentation.
I am involved with various music projects such as a soundtrack project for a nature documentary, an educational assistance project for students in the USA who are doing music degrees and I am about to launch my own music on Spotify and other platforms. I also intend to publish my first book this year (2020) and I will shortly be launching my own podcast.
In terms of worship music and other Christian music, my favourites are: JoAnn McFatter, Misty Edwards, Kim Walker, Jason Upton, Iona, Eden's Bridge, John Michael Talbot and other lesser known prophetic worship artists.
In terms of secular music, my tastes range from Sarah Brightman and Katie Melua to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to Joe Bonamassa and Santana to Yes and Genesis.
Favorite Bible Verses / Passages:
1 Chronicles 16:8 :
"Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always."
John 4:21-24 :
"21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Revelation 1:10-18 :
"10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”
12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man,[d] dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades."
