The Gentleman Behind My Music

I really know this for sure: That Verah Vashti is just an ordinary woman. I am just pretty, nothing you can turn your head to look at. And I am comfortable this way. I do not have many vibratoes in my voice. Infact I do not understand why I am the worship leader of a church of more than 1500 congregants at my age. I see the people I work with and I marvel at their knowledge in music and the tact they have a bout worship and praising God through music. Whenevr I go to the pulpit, the…

Letting Go

Well I just wanted to put down a few word about God’s sovereignty when it comes to trusting His plan for our lives. In the recent past (just two months ago) I was (very) unexpectedly let go from my position as the worship leader at our church. Although admittedly it did hurt a bit, (both my pride and my feelings) God had walked me through a real maturing process in trusting Him just the…

This is the prayer from us all,

This is the prayer from our hearts

Let the Holy Spirit pour out

and open all of our eyes

Let the miracle

of Jesus be among us

Lord, please bless over Thailand

Let the Thai have heavenly hope

Open our eyes and our hearts,

Let the Thai see Jesus' light

Lord, please bless over Thailand

to go into your will

May your blessings

flow through all o'er the…

Going to Daddy

We have a young family in our congregation with a couple of toddlers. Mom is away visiting family, so Dad brought the kids to church by himself. We've got a small sanctuary, so they generally are allowed to wander about without issue. As the service was about to start, they noticed one of the ladies who dotes on them up in the choir, so they came rumbling up. She gave them each a quick hug, but then said, in a voice loud enough to get their dad's attention (and that of everyone else in the… Continue

My last cigar!

Someone sent a message to my profile on Facebook about a picture of them smoking a cigar. I remembered a cigar story of my own. For me, it was a little miracle, so I decided to share it!…

Worship sets up the atmosphere for the Holy Spirit Tornado!!!

Hello Precious Warriors,

There is nothing in the face of the earth that is more powerful than Worshipping the Creator. Our Triune God - Father, Son and the Holy Spirit delights when true believers worship Him in spirit and in truth. Lord be the FIRE inside my heart and rekindle the flame so that You can be the flame upon my heart. Worship is so powerful that it sets up the atmosphere for the HOLY SPIRIT to work through your life in ways that you never could imagine. So what are you…

Jesus the Christ speaking:

"Knowing the correct password—saying 'Master, Master,' for instance— isn't going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, 'Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.' And do you know what I am going to say? 'You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make…

I read a C.S. Lewis essay recently that got me thinking about the nature of worship, and our times of praise in music. Titled “Dogma and the Universe,” most of the essay addresses the question: “How can any system of belief that claims to be absolute and unchanging stay relevant in the face of our ever expanding knowledge about the universe?” He argues that no amount of increase in knowledge about the world around us can ever make the fundamental truths of Christianity any less true. They are… Continue

Joseph; God's Will Is Never A Pipe Dream

Genesis37: 5 Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers they hated him even more.

Genesis 37:

18 They saw him from afar, and before he came near to them they conspired

against him to kill him.

19 They said to one another, "Here comes this…

the poem Come to me written 11/24/06

re-written as a song lyric 02/13/2010

Do you hear the sound of the wind through the trees?

Can you hear his voice by the cool Autumn breeze?

Come to me, and I will set you free.

Do you see the writ in the clouds of the skies above?

Can you read the mail of God's pure Holy love?

Come to me I am all that…
