A prayer for those in ministry

G.D. Watson a Wesleyan Methodist minister, evangelist and missionary (1845-1924) wrote these rich words that speak to me so often when I loose sight of God's jealous love for me. I pray this encourages you as you seek to serve Him.

"If God has called you to be really like Jesus, He will draw you to a life of crucifixion and humility, and put upon you such demands of obedience, that you will not be able to follow other people, or measure yourself by… Continue

Evangelism through the way we live as a Church

This week has been quite a tough week for me. Don't know why I'm feeling so tired. But God has been faithful in giving me strength and wisdom to get things done and in order.

We make it a point in my family to do bible study every night with the kids. So glad that Tammy has shown an interest since buying her a new 'Princess' bible. But today she wasn't really into it cause she just started watching Happy Feet on the TV and she couldn't pause it cause her 2 year old brother was… Continue

The Sound of Heaven

The Sound of Heaven!!

While in Romania a few weeks ago, I heard two profound things. Early in the morning after I arrived in Timisoara, I opened the guest room window and heard… nothing! The sound of silence was stunning. No highway noises, people talking, horns beeping…nada!

As I tuned my ears to the silence, small sounds were magnified. A bird flew past the window and I could actually hear it’s wings flapping. This experience underscored just how noisy my life usually… Continue

Can't Stop The Rain (new song)

OK, so I've posted this new song called "Can't Stop The Rain". I must first explain some things here. This is a song is a from a comedy routine I've done in the past. The words talk about "You can't stop the rain, but you always got your slicker suit." A slicker suit is a term we use for a rain suit here in South Louisiana. Many of you may know this but I know many people don't so I have to help you understand this or it will not be funny as it should. I would usally be wearing a "slicker suit"… Continue

The Lord gives, the Lord takes away, Blessed be the name of the Lord

I was at a church recently and they sang Matt Redman's Blessed Be Your Name. When they go to the bridge (the part that says, You give and take away) they had changed the words to, 'He blesses every day'. I was ready to get on my soap box. Now I realize that they probably didn't mean this, but it sounded to me like they were saying that they blessed His name if He blessed them, but not if He didn't. The only thing I could think was, "Would they still say blessed be His name if He took away from… Continue

Things are just getting started

We've just reached the point where our technology is starting to match the vision for providing technical resources for musicians in the church. The hope is to provide some useful and practical tools and to use social networking as a distribution mechanism. There is more to come. Our hope is to provide accurate, quality presentations of useful data.
