Whenever most people are asked, What is faith? They will usually return the answer, faith is belief in something or someone. Christians may add, the substance of things hoped for, not yet seen. I believe that what faith is goes beyond these very valid answers. That faith is knowing with with absolute certiny, without any doubt, of something being true. The faith of a child is like this. A child's faith is without doubt. The child knows. Simply knows and does not have to be convinced, the child believes and does not question the validity. They simply understand the truth of what they are believing in to be, truth. This, then, is Faith. It is a state of being. Like being hungry, honest, compassionate, truthful, or alive. You simply are, or you aren't.

What do the scriptures say about faith? Let us examin certin scriptural refrences to faith. Faith is important. Without faith you cannot please God. Because you cannot believe in him.

Matthew 8:5 thru 8:13
Mat 8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
Mat 8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
Mat 8:7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
Mat 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Mat 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Mat 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Mat 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 8:13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
Luk 17:5 (And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.)
Luk 17:6 (And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.)
Luk 17:19 (And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy hath made thee whole.)

First, the centurion believed that Jesus could heal his servant.
Second, he knew that by simply by comanding it to happen his servant would be healed.
And he believed that Jesus had compassion that went beyond the petty values of most of his countrymen, That he cared about people. Truly cared.
Some, even tho they attend church and pray and try to live christian lives do not believe enough to be faithful. do not have enough faith to recieve healing when they need it. They may not be able to admit it even to themselves. They try but are not succeeding. How do you get faith?
Faith comes by hearing, listening with your heart and mind to the Word of God. and by trusting that what you are hearing is truth.
Believe that Jesus cares for you. Loves you. That He is who he said he was. The Son of God.

Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Now thats pretty plain isn't it? If you believe, you can do anything! Get healing. Get anything done that needs doing.!
