I'm sitting here tonight amazed at the manifold grace of God. It's overwhelming for me grasp all that God has done in one year. One of the strongest words I received in the past year was during the deepest hurt of my life. The word came at 1:30 in the morning (because I couldn't sleep) on Youtube. (who said God can't use Youtube:^) Here is the word in a nutshell...
When it rains on the mountain, where does the water go? answer=the valley. Everyone loves the mountaintop experiences when the rain is falling. But where does the water go? The water goes to your lowest point. God has concealed the rain of the last out pouring in the soil where you are standing on.
Psa 84:5-7 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You; Your ways are in their hearts. (6) Passing through the valley of weeping, they will make it a fountain; the early rain also covers it with blessings. (7) They go from strength to strength, appearing in Zion before God.
God has put you in a place where you must press pass 'what is obvious' to find what he has hidden for you, not from you. He has hidden refreshment for you, it's always within reach, it's just a step beyond convenience. You are standing on pleasant soil, even though it may seem crusty and dry. The darkest moment of a person's life is their greatest moment to find promotion, if we will simply turn the attitude of the heart from the dread of the moment to the impossibility that God would abandon me thru a season of dryness.

Elman, I couldn't have said it better. What you wrote ministered to me in because I have found myself in the valley for a long period of time now. It felt like sprinkles of heaven were once again upon my heart. God personally imprinted Ps 84:5-7 on my heart on March 1, 2007. And one of the things that I held onto was the fact that it was a "passing", not a staying. In other words, there is a destination. Did you notice that "as they pass through the Valley of Baca" refers to the pilgrimage to the temple? The past 3 years have been the hardest I've ever experienced. And in a very proud way, I thought that because I was a worship leader I was exempt from certain hardships. lol. Sounds so silly in retrospect. But as a child of God, I was under a vain assumption there were things that would never touch my life. How wrong I was. And how glorious God is, for through it all (as the song goes), I've learned to trust in Jesus. When He says unless a corn of wheat falls into the ground and dies it abides alone, He means we were called to fall, die, rise, and produce an eternal, abundance of fruit. How right you are that the darkest moment of a person's life is but a glorious step to promotion. Promotion brings expansion. How sad it is to think that Christians give up the promotion because the hurt is too great, the pain too deep. Don't you love the fact that He will not abandon what He has started?

Just wanted to leave you with a beautiful scripture regarding hidden things... Proverbs 25:2 "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings."
