Pray for 9/11. . . Let's Get it Together for Peace!

I find it extremely disheartening that in the name of Christ there's a Pastor planing on burning Korans on 9/11.

I wouldn't be surprised if on 9/12 the violent action of one fanatic draws the attention of like-minded individuals. Hate begets hate and what we sow we shall also reap! Our military leaders are warning against such hateful actions as it will put in harms way thousands of troops who will become the target of revenge seekers. While I do not agree with the sacred writings and creeds of non-Christian religions, I would never desecrate them to make a political statement and invite fanatics to zero in on me, my religion and my country as a target of reciprocal hatred.

Please join me in praying that cool heads prevail and that we and others give love and peace a chance! Thanks!

Jesus, I pray for the enemies of the cross both Muslim and Christian. Please break their hearts with what breaks yours. Impress upon them the vision of reconciliation so that their prejudice and hatred becomes understanding and compassion. Forgive us for not standing up for your kingdom. In Jesus name, Let it be, amen!

It's really too bad that the Mosque and Koran controversies have high jacked 9/11 by folks motivated by fear, discrimination and hatred. And it is equally sad that folks who confess Jesus are at the forefront of the anti-Muslim rhetoric. I pray that 9/11 will be honored with repentance, prayer and acts of brotherhood in the memory of the innocent few and many who lost their lives on and after that tragic day!

Peace, joy and righteousness to you!

The Lyrics

Lord make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
And where there is sadness, joy.

O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive-
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life.
