Hello all here is my journal log from my devotions today hope you are blessed.
24Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." 26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" 29Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 30Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
This passage takes place after Mary Magdalene had discovered that Jesus body was missing from the tomb and peter and another disciples witnessed the empty tomb as well. Jesus appeared to the disciples but one of them, Thomas, was not there when they had witnessed seeing Jesus. The disciples told Thomas,"we have seen the Lord", but he did not believe them. Thomas told the disciples that he would not believe them unless he saw Jesus himself and was able to touch the nail pierced hands and touch his side where he was cut with a spear. When the disciples met again, this time with Thomas, Jesus appeared again. Jesus told Thomas to put his fingers on his hands and side. When Thomas did so he felt the hole where the nails were and he said "My Lord, My God". Jesus then told him, "since you have seen me, you believed; blessed are those who have not seen me yet believe."
We have never physically seen Jesus, in the ways that the disciples have. but the BIBLE stricly tell us that blessed are those who have not seen yet believe. Though we have never physically walked with our Savior we still believe in what he has done for us and that he truly lived and died for us and that he did rise again and is the son of God. Though I have never seen the nail pierced hands or his side yet I still believe and I continue to follow what the Lord has instructed me and continue to spread the great news with the world. We should believe everything the world tells us even though we can't see him. Don't forget seeing isn't always believing.
Help me in all I do to focus on you and follow every word you share with me. Even though I have never seen you in person I believe in you and in everything the BIBLE says about you. Help me to spread your word daily with the world.
