questionable (lol) ... ok, exuberance, rhythm, vocals and passable guitar
About Me:
I'm a long time Jesus Music, Christian Rock and CCM lover, but even longer time secular rock, soul, funk ... you name it. I still go to several secular music festivals.
My real ministry is as ER Director and practicing physician.
Favorite Music:
Wow! ...you mean right now? Oh Ok, in worship this season, God has lead me to the following (most links with free chord charts & music):
Amos 5:21-24
21 "I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies. 22 Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. 23 Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. 24 But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! NIV
Isa 58:6-9
6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter — when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? 8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. 9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. NIV
Mic 6:6-8
6 With what shall I come before the LORD and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. NIV

Hank, thanks for the reply. Sorry you have not made it back - YET - but we will keep looking out for you.
Like you have had challenges with my wife's health now for nearly 18months. She is at the best she has been for a long time so I'm beginning to venture out again.
Kelvin and I will definitely pray that you are guided with wisdom and peace with regard to the medical outreaches. After all God promised us that if we lack wisdom we should ask and He will freely give without reproach. The thing to consider would be whether God is nudging you to do this outreach as a calling that He has on your life. You would still submit it to the authority and spiritual cover of your pastor but it would be your ministry tool that God has placed in your hand. If it is done with the correct understanding of authority etc it avoids the pitfall of rebellion etc. So we pray that God guides you and that you have the grace (God empowerment) to do what He shows you. Be it stay or go.
Our senior pastor has been trying to get a hospital project off the ground for ages so I understand your frustrations.
Hank, was thinking about you recently. Pray that this finds you well and walking in Grace and Peace. Have been expecting to hear about your visit to Zim. Is this still happening. Sincerely hope we have not missed you. I must admit that I have not been too active on WTR for a while now due to many other pressing issues. Zim is by far the most exciting place to be in terms of what God is doing - yeah well I'm am biased I guess.
Welcome to Worship the Rock! Glad to see you getting so involved with the discussions here. And do feel free to upload any songs you've written, let everyone check them out! :)
Thanks for the add, Hank.
Yes, "Jesus is Everything" is a favorite at our church - just played it again last Sunday. Those words by A. B. Simpson are so deep. When I saw them in a hymn book one day I just had to write something to get them back in circulation.
God bless.
Rick
Welcome to WTR, Hank. I love your choice of verses - serving the poor and needy is very close to my heart as well. Made a trip to Africa this spring to do just that. You'll find lots of great discussions here on just about anything to do with worship music - hope to see you in the forums soon. Blessings on you from Canada.
Rick
